In our classroom, we are fortunate enough to have a computer cart in our room so that most days our classroom is one-one (each student has a computer.) Students use computers for many different subjects.
Writing- Students use computers for their online draft books. They plan, draft, edit, share, and publish their stories and essays using GoogleDocs. Students use the multiple features of GoogleDrive to work on different skills and strategies in 6+Trait Writing.

Reading- We use Daily5/Cafe in our classroom. Students use computers, iPads, books, and notebooks to work on Comprehension, Accuracy, Fluency, and Expanded Vocabulary strategies. Each day students use multiple sources to work on reading skills at their own differentiated speed.
Math- In our classroom, math is taught through centers. We start each day with a quick mini-lessons. Then students break off into small groups to participate in OK-MATH. ( Oh writing, Kahn academy, Math facts, At your seat, Teacher group, Hands on ) Students work independently or with the teacher, practice skills on computers or with hands on games. or write about the topic the are focusing on in the lesson.
Social Studies- Students investigate and research multiple topics of early American history. From Native Americans and Explorers to the American Constitution, students watch video, produce projects, read varying texts, present in small groups, and interact with information both digital and printed to expand learning and understanding of our history.
